The Gun Inn at the foot of School Hill by nearby Storrington artist, John William Bramham (1905-1990). This artist studied at Doncaster School of Art and later in the 1930s he went to the Slade School in London. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, at Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, Leeds City Art Gallery, and with the Society of Sussex Painters (of which he was a member) at the nearby Worthing Art Gallery. He taught painting at Johannesburg School of Art in the late 1940s and well into the 1950s, and showed his work extensively in South Africa. |
