1930s FINDON CRICKET

Cricket in Findon appears to have taken a bit of a nose dive in the 1930s as I have only come across one photograph recording activity for the era.

In the above photograph I have not been able to identify all of the players but on the extreme left standing is the Umpire... Norman Groves.

On the far right standing.....Jack Kennet.

Front Row (seated) second left is Johnny Spiers.

Front Row far right is possibly Chris Whittington.

These were the days when the Findon team was comprised of villagers (not like today) and so hopefully more players will be named identified and perhaps a few stories of the games will emerge.
