FINDON SHEEP FAIR 2011
Copyright Valerie Martin 2011
The day started early and looked as if it was going to be a wash-out as this photograph shows...
Here we are parked next to a dear little 1936 Austin 7 Ruby and attendant vintage tractors. The "Ruby" is a nearby neighbour of mine.
Katie has her eye on the nearby turkey and ducks...
Jez Parton (in hi-viz on the left) is one of the proud owners of the "Ruby". Jez quoted the definition of a gentleman for me.
He is a guy who can can sit in an Austin 7 and change gear and not touch the knee of his lady passenger.
Katie and Suzie still have their eyes on that turkey strutting around.
A scene from the past.... often seen floating around the area.....a 1942 Morris GPO van. I've seen it most at the BP petrol station filling up. Admired by all.
Church Hill has witnessed the scene many times over the centuries..... just as the rain stopped. Thank you God for that small mercy.
This is Titan and he's going to be the first one to be in the Ring to be judged. What a photographic shepherdess he has to be sure.
The big moment for Titan.
Some of the Nepcote Flock off to be judged.
"We're not sheep" . What little treasures.
Looking the part.
My favourites. The heavy horses being prepared for work.
Concentration.
"We've not seen pigs ever before in our lives......they smell a bit strong".
Last but not least......
