A DECEMBER WALK ON CISSBURY RING

"Who do you think you're looking at?" —

said one of the youngsters on the north side of Cissbury Ring early one morning in the frost in December 2005 ....

"Who has she brought to see us this morning?"

It's only Katie and Suzie.

What a good job I went through the Car Wash yesterday.

The moon appears over the Western Escarpment of Cissbury Ring in December 2005....

THE FULL MOON IN THE SKY OVER THE FINDON GALLOPS LATE ON A DECEMBER AFTERNOON IN 2005 .... looking north east.

The full moon has many magical phases to go through and here it is over the Findon Gallops in December 2005 looking north east. I call this one "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night....."

Rather interestingly I've heard that the moon on that night appeared to be the largest for the past twenty years.... and was captured here over Findon for prosterity.

Please note that we haven't really taken to dyeing the sheep a pretty shade of pink pink prior to shearing in Findon....... it is the effect of the setting sun's glow from Church Hill in west......

I thought there was going to be a good sunset and there was, so I stopped the car and jumped out....

Winter trees contrasting against the sky. The twinkling lights from headlights can be seen streaming down Long Furlong, A280.

In the above two photographs I have captured the sunset over Church Hill (on the right on the skyline), Church Hill Shaw.... and the greenhouses of Rogers Farm in the bottom left hand corner.

The finale over Church Hill before I went home....

New Year's Eve rainbow looking for a pot of gold on Cissbury Ring.

24th February 2006 — The view looking towards Chanctonbury Ring. No snow on Cissbury Ring..... but it snowed at Chanctonbury Ring !

I climbed up on the ramparts of Cissbury Ring for a better view. Sheep can be seen on the Findon downland..... and a couple of cows from the Cissbury Estate enjoy the sunshine in the foreground.
