Dew-pond to the south east of Chanctonbury before the Second World War c.1930. |
The maximum life of a dew-pond is believed to be about a hundred years and in the absence of maintenance they are now rapidly vanishing from the Findon landscape under matted undergrowth.
In November 2010, Barry Pulford emailed to say....

"Dear Valerie.....Further to your lovely pictures of the dew-pond to the South East of Chanctonbury Ring, I took one showing water in it and sheep in attendance on 10 November 2010, together with its ugly replacement......

Also one from our family album dated 1931. How things change.... Barry.
