THE END OF AN ERA — COLONEL WILLIAM GEORGE MARGESSON

The Colonel died in the latter part of 1911. At the Colonel's death, his son Colonel Evelyn W. Margesson (1865-1944) inherited Findon Place and it was sold to Charles Eric Hartridge who came from the States..
It is worth mentioning here that Colonel Evelyn W. Margesson (1865-1941) was the last Lord of the Manor of Findon. It was his brother, Hugh Somerset Margesson who took upon himself the task of writing the history of Findon and his Margesson family connection — but I am told he died after writing one paragraph! I seem to have completed the project for him... many years later.
